The getsmart system is operated by Get Smart Limited which is based in New Zealand and adheres to the Research Association of New Zealand Code of Practice in all respects.
We also adhere to all relevant legislation relating specifically to online research. Of particular relevance is New Zealand's Unsolicited Electronic Email Act 2007 which prohibits organisations from sending emails that are unsolicited (spamming), or from making survey participants' email addresses available to third parties who may then send unsolicited email.
Unless otherwise stated, all surveys undertaken by organisations using the getsmart system collect information on an anonymous basis and the information you provide is available only in aggregate form. We DO NOT analyse or report on the information that you or other survey respondents provide in a way that this can be attributed to any individual person.
Respondents' contact details (including name and/or email address) are not made available to organisations using the getsmart survey system UNLESS:
a) the survey you are completing includes a question asking if you wish to be contacted about any issues you have raised in the survey AND you respond 'yes' to this question
b) you are the winner of a prize being offered for participating in the research. In this case, you will receive an email advising you of this fact and the organisation running the survey will also receive a copy of that email for validation purposes.
All data collected using the getsmart system is stored securely in New Zealand and is subject to New Zealand laws governing privacy and the handling of survey data.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding your privacy and a survey that is being run using the getsmart system, please contact Get Smart Limited by emailing our Privacy Officer at firstname.lastname@example.org.
